Dudleys on Short in Lexington

The awards and accolades Dudley's has received are highly deserved! Great dishes every time I have visited, and top-tier service from our servers as well. Great atmosphere on the patio during the nice weather months since there's not a ton of traffic on Short St. Also love the wine selection and prices. Recommend!

Service was totally on point all night. Our somm was incredibly helpful in steering us to some really delicious wine that was a terrific value. We greatly appreciated that! Our waiter was also super helpful, polite, and knowledgeable and really had terrific timing in terms of asking us what we needed and pacing our courses. I will definitely return to Dudley's the next time I'm in Lexington! Everything is good.

In Lexington for a visit and decided to take my friend here as the duck caught her eye on the menu. Atmosphere was good in the dining room, but there were some inconsistencies. Considering the dress was business casual, as indicated by Opentable, I expected there to be a coat check. Seems that only was offered to certain people though. Another inconsistency was bread service. We had finished our appetizer and were half way thru our meals when bread service came by and we were ignored on the first round. Had to waive the server down to see what options they had. Overall the duck was fine and steak was cooked correctly.

The food here is excellent and top notch. The tables here however are so small there is no room for your food. The bread tray they present is delicious. The service can be quite slow at times when busy. The smoked trout eggs were the best, the steak was cooked perfectly but didn't care much for the fries. The tortellini was ridiculously small (4 pieces) for the price. Really enjoyed the meat and cheese plate. Bring your wallet though because it will cost you!

Dudley's saved my wedding anniversary! My husband and I made a reservation at another restaurant for our anniversary, but they totally messed up our reservation. We walked up the street to Dudley's and were immediately impressed. The decor is beautiful and the staff was extremely welcoming. They seated us at a cozy little romantic table in a private spot. The food is great, the best duck I've ever had, and my husband's seafood chowder was really good too. Our waiter Taylor was amazing, he came back often to check on us, he was fast, and he was friendly, hands down the best service we've ever had in Lexington. Taylor even gave us a few little freebie bites to eat, he really made us feel special, and we never even mentioned that it was our anniversary. I'm very happy the other restaurant messed up, otherwise we never would have found this gem. Thank you so much for taking care of us tonight, it was the perfect anniversary dinner!

My wife & I loved brunch at Dudley’s On Short. We ordered way too much food, but gave us a chance to try several things. The Bacon beignets were a crazy combo of sweet & savory. My wife had the chicken biscuit and I went with French Toast (pictures). Everything was perfectly cooked. If you are in the Lexington area you should definitely check this place out. We also loved the ambiance with all the famous horse pictures on the wall!

I had dinner at Dudley's while visiting Lexington to decide if I should move here. I am pretty sure my meal - scallops - sold me on Lexington! I've been back several times and always have had a great experience and delicious food!

I knew this place was big but didn't expect there to be upstairs which was amazing as we were seated almost immediately. The bread basket that was brought round was very fresh, but a tad bit salty for my sister. Our appetizers and entrees were delicious and overall I had a great meal with an even better experience.

Oh man, fantastic. Wonderful, local and seasonal cuisine! The 5 stars comes with a 5 star price but well worth every penny. Laid back atmosphere/attie but you can also(as we did) dress it up big time.

As good of a place as any you will find in any city. . In this age of casual, and I certainly was, you need to select carefully, and this place gets it done. Ask to be served by Padgett. He attends to perfection. That's the lamb there..
